One of the college's oldest departments, the Department of Economics (est.), has a long history of providing its students with high-quality instruction in both theoretical and applied economics, as well as numerous training opportunities and career assistance. 

The department provides a variety of courses, including the Multidisciplinary Economics B.A. course, Generic Elective (GE) courses, and Skill Enhancement Courses (SEC). 

Arthashastra, the Economics Society, is the essence of the economics department. Its main objective is to maintain the goodwill of the department and promote economics as a subject in our college. 

 The department intends to progressively undertake measures to improve the understanding of the students through contemporary economics.
